Metropolitan Museum Visit – Art Students League Class

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It was my great pleasure to visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art with students from my Art Students Leauge Oil Painting class.
Students curated the tour, each by picking one painting for the group to visit.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][thb_button caption=”Register For This Class” link=”http://www.theartstudentsleague.org/class/oil-painting-life-understanding-painting/” target_blank=”true” size=”medium” animation=”animation fade-in”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]When we arrived at their selection, students spoke to the group about what they were attracted to about the work. In one case a student brought us to a painting by Cy Twombly because many of her friends appreciated it but she did not understand it. A discussion ensued with the group about the work and was incredibly enlightening.
We visited work by, Max Beckman, Eduard Vuillard, Alberto Giacometti, Paul Cezanne, Cy Twombly and Alex Reppin.
We will be taking another tour, next time of The Whitney Museum in January.
