I am in the process of trying to strike out on a fine art career path focusing on horses and other animals. I studied at the Columbus College of Art & Design (long time ago). I was a graphic designer/illustrator for many years. I taught visual arts at my daughters’ small, rural K-12 public school. I taught a few community college classes. I’ve struggled for the last ten years trying to figure out where I fit in as my path in the fine arts. I’ve taken classes at the Denver Art Students League and studied with some successful artists in my area. I live pretty remotely on a large ranch in Colorado. I am a lifelong horsewoman and competitor, so I decided to paint horses which I know well and have access to live models and a community of horse people. I just started offering my services. My biggest hurdle was confidence and clarity about my style/process (still working on that). I like to create shadow boxes too.
