I started oil painting 23 years ago but took 20 years off to pursue other passions (mostly horses.). During Covid I finally had time to reconnect with painting, and now I can’t get enough.  I am a small animal veterinarian, so I mostly paint animals.  It’s incredibly fun and interesting to work with animals, including surgery, then draw and paint them.  My goal is to do commissions for clients–I’ll be retiring in 5 years or so and I’ll be able to commit to art full time.  It will be a way to stay connected to the pets and horses that have made me so happy during my professional career and my equestrian pursuits.  Jennifer Gennari’s class has been perfect for me; her classical training and focus on capturing animals’ personalities are exactly what I strive for.
