Spend a full day drawing at The American Museum of Natural History in New York City with instructor Will Weston.
This session focuses on drawing bones and animals from life. There will be several demos throughout the day in different galleries. Students will then work on their own drawings and reassemble for critiques and new information. (We can not guarantee that all students will get critiques.
This is a great opportunity to meet other artists/students and to learn from one of the greatest drawing instructors.
Students should gather OUTSIDE the museum anytime between 10:00 and 10:30 AM to meet up and enter together. (see meeting point below)
Class runs from 10:30 – 1:30 and 2:30 – 5:15.
We will have a lead contact on the day who you will be able to text to make sure everyone is connected.
Lunch is not provided but can be bought nearby.
This class is not associated with the AMNH but rather takes place inside.
You must purchase your own ticket for the museum…however anyone with a NY, NJ or CONN ID can get up to 4 tickets for entry for free. We will be able to work together to get everyone a ticket.
We may only draw with pencils (will recommends Progresso pencils) or digital media. No pads larger than 16×20 are allowed.
Students must not block pathways or obstruct foot traffic while working.
