Join us for two hours of New Yorker style cartoon-making with New Yorker Cartoonist Sofia Warren. All materials are included – along with wine and light nibbles.
The session will start with fun exercises to get your creative juices going. Then attendees will create their own cartoon(s) by the end of the session.
Those we are willing will share their work with “the editorial board”, the rest of the attendees.
No experience necessary (in drawing or writing).
We are looking forward to this new session!
I’ve been a cartoonist for The New Yorker since 2017, contributing print cartoons and comics & essays for the digital humor section. My comics have also run in MoMA magazine, Narrative Magazine, and Catapult, among other places. Illustration/animation clients include Cartier, Phillips Auction House, HBO, Shopify, Squarespace, and L’Uomo Vogue.
My first book, Radical— a graphic memoir about the year I spent embedded with freshman state senator Julia Salazar— was published in 2022 through Top Shelf Productions.
The doors to our events open 15 minutes before each session. The doorman will direct you to the classroom.
This event takes place on the third floor of a building without an elevator. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the monitor.
We kindly ask that any ticket rescheduling be requested at least 72 hours before class. Our space is limited and we hold spots for all ticket holders.
