Jonathan Aller

Jonathan Aller holds a BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design and an MFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He has trained in Florence, Italy, at the Angel Academy of Art, learning the techniques of the Masters in drawing and painting. Jonathan's approach to drawing emphasizes the fundamentals of gesture, value, and form. He believes that mastering these core principles with simple tools like ballpoint pen creates a strong foundation for all artistic endeavors. Through his teaching, Jonathan demonstrates how to capture the essence and life of a subject from the initial gesture through to refined completion, focusing on the critical skills of observation, measurement, and mark-making that every artist needs to develop.
