Great drawing, I really like how you included some of the background cars and details but still kept them subtle enough to be in the background.

Thank you Paul and Draw America for the sketch-together session today. It was a lot of fun! Here’s my sketch. It is Copic, Micron, and white Sharpie on Strathmore toned gray sketch pad. And my Instagram is http://www.instagram.com/zoungyart for those who are interested. #guestsketch

Cool drawing. Did you use toned paper and while and black charcoal? It looks great.

Thank you! I edited the description to include details of markers and pens used: It is Copic, Micron, and white Sharpie on Strathmore toned gray sketch pad.

Thanks for coming everyone. I really enjoyed it. Got a chance to finish up my drawing and address the background a little more.

Paul, when you and I talked for a minute, you mentioned your current favorite fountain pen. What was it again? I should have wrote it down. Thanks!

Hi Terry, I think I was talking about the Hero M86 fude nib fountain pen. Discontinued, unfortunately. Hero does have a few other good fude pens on the market. I think the one I like the most is the 9018. Also, the Sailor Fude de Mannen pen is a good inexpensive fude fountain pen to start experimenting with.

While this isn’t a class but a session to sketch together, there isn’t a supply list. Please bring what you enjoy working with and we will discuss materials while we work.

Having said that here are some of Paul’s favorites.

    My preferred supplies:

Stillman and Birn Epsilon or Alpha sketchbookStillman and Birn Nova beige sketchbook Etchr hot press watercolor sketchbook Fude or bent nib fountain pens (Sailor Fude de Mannen, Hero 9018, Moonman C1 bent nib)Lamy Safari fountain pen with Medium nibDerwent water brush filled with diluted Noodler’s Lexington Gray fountain pen ink (in other words mostly water and enough ink to make an intermediate gray tone)White Sakura Gelly Roll pen

I so enjoyed the sketch session! Thank you! I didn’t have a way to do an ink wash (used markers), but can’t wait to pick up a few supplies and try it! Find my art @vanee.ink on Instagram

Hi all. Thank you so much Paul and Drawing America for hosting this sketching session. It was fun and challenging as well as a bit outside my comfort zone! I worked a bit more on this truck to add some detail and that extra tire I didn’t see at first. I made some obvious mistakes in interpretation, but I had fun drawing nonetheless. I was so inspired by watching Paul work that I tried another truck the following day. Thanks for everything. I have an IG account although it’s mostly my farm life and a smattering of my creative work. You are all welcome anytime. Stay safe. Thanks for sharing. @roxytee3
