In this class, we will learn how to establish and maintain an accurate impression of the model throughout the different stages of the painting process.
Using a direct approach students will learn how to draw accurate proportions, identify subtleties in value, effectively use color and temperature in dynamic mixing. Control over materials to facilitate fresh clean imagery. All using a rapid, one-layer, wet into wet approach.
Not only is this a fun way to capture a likeness its also essential to understanding the fundamentals that make even the most complex work more attainable. Students will test their skills and build on their understanding of the component parts that create the illusions necessary for convincing portraiture. The class will include Demonstrations, Lecturers, individual and group critiques.
