Instructor's Biography

Carlos Gomes Cabral (born April 01, 1982) is a professional character designer with many years of experience in several segments, such as books, games, comics, technology, and packaging. He did work for clients such as Sony Music, Envato, The Quarto Group, Son of Oak Games, Karmieh Toy Design and Total Alimentos among others.

He is the author of the book called “Whoosh! 250 Ways to Get Motion into Your Drawings”, published by Barron’s Educational Series, where he teaches beginner and professional artists to create attention-grabbing drawings that practically leap off the pages. This book has been translated into more than 4 languages and it also features guest artists from companies such as Marvel Comics, Image Comics, and Dreamworks Animation. Carlos is also the guy behind the famous cartoon tutorials published by the Tutsplus site.

Carlos is well known for his ability to create both funny and dramatic characters in any style, ranging from cute cartoons to comics. He lives with his wife and daughter at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and likes to interact with his fans and followers on social media, where he posts sketches, digital paintings, and drawing tips.
