Two Day Figure Drawing Workshop with Artist Emil Robinson

Emil Robinson has a unique approach to figure drawing, drawing techniques, and pastel methods. Robinson’s response to the figure is both physical and tender, often utilizing unexpected color and texture. Join the artist for a Two-Day Figure Drawing Workshop.

(Students may work in charcoal, limited pastel palette or with all the materials below. )

On day one, Robinson will introduce his materials and methods. He will flesh out his goals with the aid of art history and will demonstrate a drawing from beginning to end.

On day two, Robinson will lead participants on a series of guided exercises meant to hone a unique but structured approach to drawing the figure. An emphasis will be put on harnessing the energy of a pose utilizing gesture, the difference between contour and mass with pastel, and thoughts on color.
