Sketching in The Galleries at The Morgan Library and Museum
Thank you to everyone who turned out for Sketching in The Galleries at The Morgan Library and Museum. It is a great privilege to lead guests for the museums through this two hour sketching session. The program is designed for visitors to create from the many masterpieces in the collection.
During this session attendees looked at works from Treasures from the Nationalmuseum of Sweden: The Collections of Count Tessin.
“The drawings include works by Italian masters such as Domenico Ghirlandaio, Raphael, Giulio Romano, and Annibale Carracci. Northern European artists are represented by Dürer, Hendrik Goltzius, Rubens, Rembrandt, and Anthony van Dyck, among others. The French drawings begin with Francesco Primaticcio and practitioners of the Fountainebleau school and include works by Jacques Callot and Nicholas Poussin, as well as Count Tessin’s French contemporaries, Boucher, Chardin, and Watteau.”
We hope you will join us for another session on March 25th.
