Does the shadow make you appreciate the light?
All the variety, all the charm, all the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow. -Leo Tolstoy (Anna Karenina)
Does the shadow make you appreciate the light? While working I get to thinking about things like this, and how art can be an analogy for life. Examples: Sometimes you can’t erase; work with those marks. The biggest mess can turn into a masterpiece. Stressing won’t make it better. Find beauty in common things. Focus- or things get sloppy. If it’s not good you’re not finished. Vision and hard work will get you there. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. The biggest challenge is starting. The biggest challenge is finishing. etc.
Do you have any art to life analogies?

In art as in life, I do my best when I am spontaneous. Too much control, often spoils the work
and you can’t see the light without the dark.
